Clear Creek shortstop Gibson commits to Houston
Clear Creek senior Zack Gibson has committed to play baseball next year for the University of Houston.
The 5-foot, 10-inch, 180-pound shortstop batted .244, scored 23 runs and had 17 RBIĀ last season for the Wildcats.
Gibson was a second team all-district selection for the district co-champions last season.
"Zack is another high energy guy that has strength to his game as well as the ability to play in the middle of the field.," Houston baseball coach Todd Whitting said, according to the university's website.
"He played in the summer for former Major League pitcher and Cougar great Shane Nance. Zack comes from Clear Creek High school where he has been tutored by one of Houston's finest and longest tenured high school coaches, Jim Mallory."
