League City contest winners will get snow for Christmas
The Weather Channel (TWC) announced that Ginny Henderson of League City is the winner of the network's second annual "Guaranteed White Christmas" contest.
The Hendersons will wake up to a yard full of snow on Christmas Day when TWC meteorologist Adam Berg and co-host Mary Cobb broadcast live from the Henderson home, 9 a.m. EST, in League City and turn it into a "winter wonderland."
Henderson submitted a video for the contest that featured her three young children, Hurricane Sam and Typhoon Ruthie, pleading for snow as Weatherman Jack, an aspiring meteorologist, predicts the day's forecast for snow in South Texas on Christmas Day.
The Hendersons' white Christmas will be complete with festive holiday activities including ice skating, tree decorating, sledding and more. They will also be awarded a $15,000 cash prize, a $1,500 Sears shopping spree and a Tassimo hot beverage system.
A panel of judges from TWC viewed hundreds of video submissions and, based on uniqueness and creativity of the submissions, selected Henderson's video as the grand-prize winner.
The entire collection of eligible videos can be found at www.weather.com/whitechristmas.
