Talk of the Bay: Christmas Boat Lane Parade

December 11 – Christmas Boat Lane Parade – Bay Area ~ gallery 1

Thousands of holiday spectators lined the shores of Clear Lake. From Nassau Bay to the Kemah Boardwalk families gathered to watch the 49th annual Christmas Boat Lane Parade. More than 90 beautifully decorated boats participated. Some man powered and some huge commercial yachts all shared the waters as they made their way from Nassau Bay, out through the Kemah Channel, out into the bay, then turning around and completing the circle.
The winds picked up just before the start of the parade which posed challenges for some of  the parade entrants but caution prevailed and all boats and passengers returned safe and sound.

Listen in to Talk of the Bay as we chatted with Cindy Herald, President and CEO of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Domino Taylor, Director of Fun and Entertainment for the city of Kemah.

Some of the award winners:
The Red Adair Memorial Award for Best Overall - Boat #97 The Elvises
The Bill Taylor Memorial Award                        - Boat #53 The Covered Wagon
The Jack Campbell Award for Best Overall Family – Boat #18 The Tangled Web
