Friendswood Police Department blotter, Dec. 9
The Friendswood Police Department reported the following events between Dec.
1 and 7:
Domestic Violence
Dec. 7 (8:33 p.m.) - Horatio Garcia Jr., 33, of Friendswood was charged
with assault causing bodily injury - family violence. Garcia was involved
in a disturbance with his wife that turned physical in the 400 block of Old
Course in the Sun Meadow subdivision.
Dec. 7 (5:59 p.m.) - Chad Mize, 38, of Pearland was charged with assault
by contact to the elderly - family violence. Mize was found to be
intoxicated at his mother's home at Gardens at Friendswood Lakes apartments,
1423 W. Parkwood. Mize reportedly shoved his mother during an argument.
Dec. 5 (12:12 a.m.) - Joshua Steptoe, 22, of Alvin was charged with
assault causing bodily injury - family violence. Steptoe was involved in a
physical argument with his girlfriend at Bay Meadows Apartments, 17201
Blackhawk.
Dec. 4 (2:32 a.m.) - Eugene Pollard, 25, of Friendswood was charged with
assault by threat - family violence. Pollard was involved in an argument
with a family member in the 16400 block of Hibiscus and threatened to kill
the relative.
Dec. 1 (9:57 p.m.) - Timothy Hewgley, 25, of Friendswood was charged with
assault by contact - family violence. Hewgley was involved in an argument
with his girlfriend in the 200 block of Brandywyne.
Driving While Intoxicated
Dec. 5 (11:47 p.m.) - Nicholas Helzer, 32, was charged with DWI and
possession of marijuana. Helzer was involved in a one vehicle crash in the
200 block of Clearview. Helzer displayed signs of intoxication and refused
to participate in any form of testing. During an inventory of his car,
officers found marijuana.
Dec. 4 (11:30 p.m.) - Tommy Falgout, 27, of Friendswood was charged with
DWI. Falgout was stopped for a traffic violation in the 17200 block of
Blackhawk. He failed a field sobriety test and was taken to an area medical
facility for a required blood draw.
Dec. 2 (11:42 p.m.) - Misty Purvis, 39, of Friendswood was charged with
DWI. Purvis was observed driving erratically and was stopped in the 4900
block of FM 2351. She failed a field sobriety test and registered .231 on a
breath test.
Dec. 2 (1:31 a.m.) - Jack Swiggett, 24, of Friendswood was charged with
DWI and possession of a controlled substance. Swiggett was stopped for a
traffic violation in the 3100 block of FM 528. He failed a field sobriety
test and refused to submit to a breath test. During a vehicle inventory,
officers found Prozac in the vehicle.
Burglary
Dec. 3 (10:00 p.m.) - A purse was stolen during a vehicle burglary at
24-Hour Fitness, 130 W. Parkwood. The victim advised that she arrived at
the gym and at that time stowed her purse under the front seat. A window
was smashed to gain entry. Before she discovered the burglary, her credit
card was used at an area gas station.
Dec. 3 (9:01 p.m.) - Copper wiring, drywall and lights were reported
stolen from a home being remodeled in the 100 block of Brigadoon in Annalea
subdivision.
Dec. 3 (8:58 p.m.) - Jewelry, a camera, books and medication were among
items stolen from a car parked at Village on the Park, 400 E. Parkwood. A
window was smashed to gain entry to the vehicle.
Dec. 3 (7:27 a.m.) - A drum set, keyboard and speakers were stolen from
Friendswood Friends Church, 502 S. Friendswood Drive. It is not clear how
the burglar(s) made entry to the church building.
Dec. 3 (7:09 a.m.) - A door was reported stolen from a home under
construction in the 1700 block of Pampas Trail in Friendswood Lakes
subdivision.
Dec. 2 (6:22 p.m.) - A purse was stolen from a car parked at The Primrose
School, 1409 S. Friendswood Drive. A window was shattered to grab the purse
which had been left on the front seat.
Vandalism
Dec. 3 (12:17 p.m.) - A vehicle was "keyed" while parked in the 500 block
of N. Heather Lane in Briar Meadow subdivision.
Narcotics
Dec. 3 (2:49 p.m.) - Gia Parker, 19, of Pearland was charged with
possession of a controlled substance. Parker was stopped for a traffic
violation in the 1700 block of W. Parkwood. She allowed officers to search
her vehicle and officers found several doses of hydrocodone and Adderall.
Theft
Dec. 7 (10:39 a.m.) - A resident of the 1200 block of Tall Pines in
Coward's Creek subdivision reported the theft of a ring. The ring was taken
sometime in mid-November.
Dec. 6 (8:00 a.m.) - Copper tubing was discovered stolen from three homes
under construction in the 400 block of Mary's Creek Lane in Mary's Creek
Estates subdivision. The copper was taken sometime over the weekend.
Miscellaneous
Dec. 3 (7:25 p.m.) - Zackary Burton, 21 of The Woodlands was charged with
soliciting without a permit. Burton was located in the 1300 block of
Silverleaf soliciting door to door for AT&T.
Dec. 3 (3:18 p.m.) - James Stackhouse, 25, of New York was charged with
soliciting without a permit. Stackhouse was located in the 300 block of
Stratmore in Annalea subdivision selling magazine subscriptions door to
door.
Dec. 2 (11:24 p.m.) - Laura Rhodes, 17, of Friendswood was charged with
Interfering with City Officers. Police were called to a residence in the
16700 block of Townes Road to investigate a disturbance. The homeowner had
given officers permission to search the residence but Rhodes reportedly kept
trying to keep officers from searching the residence. She was placed into a
patrol but somehow freed herself from the handcuffs and briefly exited the
car before she was placed back into custody.
Fraud/Identity Theft
Dec. 7 - Resident reported unauthorized use of his bank card information
to make an online purchase that was delivered to a Katy area home.
Dec. 3 - Resident reported unauthorized activity on her credit union
account.
Dec. 2 - Resident reported the unauthorized use of his credit card
information to purchase an airline ticket.
