Friendswood Parks and Recreation to offer Zumba classes
The Friendswood Parks and Recreation Department is bringing the Zumba dance sensation to the public.
Zumba is a cardio workout blending Latin dance genres such as salsa and merengue with Bollywood, African dance and the tango. The result is an upbeat dance exercise offering a variety of tempos.
The class, taught by Lisa Miller, will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Leavesley Park Hangar at 901 Buckingham.
Both men and women are invited to participate, and no experience is necessary.
Also, those interested can participate in a free "Zumba in the Park" class at the Stevenson Park Gazebo on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
For more information, call the Friendswood Parks and Recreation Department at 281-996-3220 or e-mail rec@friendswood.com.
