HS girls basketball: Clear Springs defeats Deer Park
Clear Springs crushed Deer Park with an 80-41 win in girls basketball action on Thursday.
Clear Springs put the game away in the second quarter, outscoring Deer Park 26-10 and taking a 26-point lead at the half.
Clear Springs improved to 9-1 on the season.
Brooke McCarty, a 5-foot, 6-inch freshman guard, and Aaliyah Brown, a 5-foot, 8-inch junior guard, both scored 17 points in the victory.
Clear Springs next hosts Clear Creek in district 24-5A action on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Deer Park fell to 1-6 with the loss.
Senior Hayle Lovell led her team with 15 points.
Deer Park will visit La Porte on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in district 22-5A action.
