Man dies after SUV rolls over in SE Houston wreck
One man died and another was injured when their sport utility vehicle rolled over after hitting a pickup in southeast Houston last weekend.
The two-vehicle wreck happened at 1550 Dixie Farm Road near Abrago about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Police said the 27-year-old driver of the SUV died at the scene while his 31-year-old passenger was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition. Police did not disclose the passenger's injuries.
The pickup driver was not injured.
The victims' names have not been released.
Police said a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Dixie Farm Road when he attempted to pass a Nissan Frontier. The driver of the Explorer hit the pickup and lost control of the SUV, which then rolled over. The SUV driver and his passenger were thrown from the vehicle.
The Nissan driver, whose name has not been released, called police from a nearby convenience store and then returned to the crash site.
Police are investigating the case.
