MMA star Tim Kennedy to appear at Space Center benefit
Tim Kennedy, a former Green Beret-turned-MMA star, as well as astronaut Col. Lee J. Archambault will be on hand at Space Center Houston's Salute Our Troops day Nov. 13.
A U.S. Army Apache helicopter and a SEAL desert patrol vehicle will be on display, and U.S. Army instructors will demonstrate basic training drills.
Space Center Houston will also present LEGO Castle Adventure, its newest exhibit.
Visitors are encouraged to bring care packages, which will be sent to soldiers serving in Basra, Iraq. Attendees who bring donations will receive half-off admission. Military personnel in uniform can also receive half-off admission by presenting a coupon available at www.spacecenter.org/saluteourtroopsday.html.
The event is sponsored by the Texas National Guard.
Space Center Houston is the official visitors center for NASA's Johnson Space Center. The address is 1601 NASA Parkway in Houston.
