Houston man charged with resisting arrest

The Webster Police Department charged a man with Resisting Arrest on Monday at 2:07 a.m. in the 18300 block of Egret Bay Boulevard.

Officer J.A. Vaughn was on foot patrol in the parking lot of Scout Bar. The officer observed a fight break out between several individuals as they entered the parking lot.  The officer attempted to break up the fight and restrain Derrick Wetenkamp, 23, of Baytown who was involved in the altercation.

While the officer attempted to restrain the suspect, Wetenkamp was actively resisting arrest before finally being placed into custody. Wetenkamp was placed in custody and transported to the Webster City jail without further incident.
