Friendswood citizen's call results in burglary arrest

The Friendswood Police Department reported that thanks to an observant citizen, a man was charged with burglary in the 500 block of Stadium Lane on Nov. 1 at approximately 12:16 a.m.

Gabriel Barcenas, 22, of Webster was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and driving while license invalid.

The citizen alerted police that she observed a man trying to open the doors on her neighbor's 1995 white Chevrolet truck. She was able to provide police with a direction of travel, a vehicle description and physical description of the suspect.   

As officers entered the subdivision, they encountered a truck matching the suspect's description. The occupants of the vehicle were questioned and Barcenas was subsequently arrested.   

Barcenas was transferred to the Galveston County Jail pending bonds of $1,500 and $1,000.
