Man causes disturbance at Webster hotel

The Webster Police department arrested a man on Wednesday on the 400 block of West Bay Area Boulevard.

Officer V.J. Werner responded to a disturbance at the Intown Suites at 6:26 a.m. At the scene, Donald Herring, 40, told Officer Werner that he kicked William Smothers, 20, out of his room after he found him stealing.  

As Smothers, a Galveston resident, exited the room, he broke one of the room's 4-foot-by-two-foot windows.  He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal mischief.

The window is estimated to cost $300.
