HS football preview: Clear Lake v. Dickinson
The Clear Lake Falcons (3-5) host the Dickinson Gators (4-4) Thursday.
Clear Lake suffered its second consecutive loss 46-36 to Clear Brook last week.
Falcons quarterback Karson Roberts has 86 passing yards and one touchdown pass.
Roberts also has over 1,000 rushing yards and 10 touchdown runs while averaging more than 125 yards rushing per game in the Falcons rush-heavy offense that is averaging more than 320 yards per game on the ground.
Clear Lake running back Sean McRaney has 819 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns this season.
Connor Shannon leads the team with 47 receiving yards and also has the Falcons only touchdown reception.
Javen Godfrey has two interceptions this season for Clear Lake.
Dickinson lost 49-35 last week to Clear Springs.
Gators quarterback Charles Barkmann has combined for 1,283 yards and 12 touchdowns but has also thrown eight interceptions this season.
Running back Tyrell Preston has 1,099 rushing yards and 14 touchdown runs while averaging more than 137 yards per game but has also lost seven fumbles.
Gators receiver Dittrich Bunton leads the team with an average of 51.4 receiving yards per game and also has two touchdown receptions.
Jermaine Jenkins leads Dickinson with three touchdown receptions.
Dickinsons defensive leaders are Byron Wells and Jeremy Forsberg.
Wells is averaging more than eight tackles per game while Forsberg has caused three fumbles and broken up three passes.
Kick off is set for 7 p.m. at Veterans Stadium.
