Clear Springs 49 Dickinson 35 in district football
The Clear Springs Chargers (6-2) defeated the Dickinson Gators (4-4) 49-35 Friday night.
Dickinson couldn't find an answer for the dynamic play of Texas A&M recruit Howard Matthews.
Clear Springs' Matthews caught two Dylan Doebler touchdown passes and had three rushing touchdowns while averaging over 18 yards per reception and 6.8-yards per carry. He finished compiling a combined 215 yards.
Chargers quarterback Doebler had an equally impressive game. He finished with five touchdown passes and 285 passing yards while also throwing two interceptions.
Dimitri Donald was the recipient of three of those Doebler touchdown passes, including the first two scores of the game and finished with 159 receiving yards while averaging 26.5 yards per reception.
Xavion Taylor was also impressive for Clear Springs complimenting Matthews in the rushing attack with a touchdown run and 101 yards rushing.
The Gators' Tyrell Preston continues to have a nice season. He finished averaging 12.7 yards per carry and had two touchdown runs while also compiling 190 rushing yards.
Dickinson quarterback Charles Barkmann had two touchdown passes to Jermaine Jenkins and Dittrich Bunton while also combing for 214 yards and throwng an interception. Bunton led the Gators with 100 receiving yards and also rushed for a score.
