Volleyball Preview: Clear Creek at Brazoswood
The Clear Creek Wildcats (24-12) visit the Brazoswood Buccaneers (3-12) Tuesday night at 6:30 pm.
Clear Creek defeated Brazoswood in three games their last meeting September 17.
Clear Creek's Rachel Hobaugh is having an MVP worthy year and has 329 kills and 318 digs this season. She was a 2009 All-District second team selection.
Hobaugh, a 5'9" senior, is joined by a triumvirate of talented underclassmen.
5'11" sophomore Ashley Smith leads the Wildcats with 401 kills and is averaging 4.05 kills per game.
5'9" sophomore setter Courtney Richardson has 388 assists and is averaging 4.26 assists per game while also collecting 108 digs onĀ the season.
5'3" junior Natalie Piznar leads the Yellowjackets with 419 digs and is averaging 4.46 digs per game.
Brazoswood must have a strong performance from both junior Malina Sanchez and senior Jennifer Armstrong if they wish to stay competitive against Clear Creek.
The 5'8" Sanchez leads the Buccaneers with 181 kills and is averaging 4.31 kills per game.
5'5" senior Jennifer Armstrong leads Brazoswood with 115 assists and is averaging 4.42 assists per game.
