Channelview's McNorton sees plenty of playing time with North Dakota State
Channelview HS grad D.J. McNorton rushed for 105 yards for North Dakota State in its 28-16 loss to Western Illinois on Saturday.
His 16 carries averaged 6.5 yards, including a long 40-yard rush.
He is the son of Darren and the late Tonya McNorton.
McNorton was a first-team 5A all-district selection his senior at Channelview HS. He earned second-team 4A all-district honors as a junior. McNorton rushed for 1,915 yards and 16 touchdowns in two years, including a 1,130-yard senior campaign.
He logged 3,132 all-purpose yards in two seasons with 24 total touchdowns in his high school career.
North Dakota State will travel to Youngstown, Ohio to take on Youngstown State. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CST.
