Wreck kills woman on Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a Gulf Freeeway traffic accident that left a young woman dead last night.
The victim was identified today as Ashley Vassel-Stephens, 25.
Police gave the following account of the accident.
According to witnesses, the driver of a Honda Prelude was traveling sound on the Gulf Freeway about 10:40 p.m. Monday when he made a lane change near the 610 Loop exit ramp and struck a Nissan Pathfinder, causing it to roll several times.
Vassel-Stephens was ejected from the Pathfinder. Two other occupants, a female and male, were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Prelude was questioned and released at the scene.
