A National Merit honor roll for Clear Lake
This year 34 students from the Clear Creek and Friendswood school districts made the list of National Merit semifinalists.
They are among 15,000 high school students receiving the honor across the country. Of those, about 8,200 will go on to receive National Merit scholarships after confirming their performance on the SAT, maintaining their school grades and meeting other academic criteria.
To be a semifinalist in Texas this year, students had to score at least 216 on their PSAT tests last fall.
