Warnings from red-light cameras start Sept. 30
League City plans to start issuing warning tickets for running red lights monitored by cameras Sept. 30.
Installation of the red-light cameras is already under way at three intersections:
At West FM 518 and Interstate 45, where cameras will watch traffic traveling east, south and west.
At Texas 3 and FM 518, both westbound and eastbound.
At FM 518 and Marina Bay Drive for left turn lanes.
According to city spokeswoman Kristi Wyatt, Sept. 30 marks the beginning of the 30-day warning period the state requires before motorists can be cited for red light violations.
After that, violators will receive in the mail $75 civil citations that will not count against their driving records.
