Friday night lights are dim this week

Most district openers are a week away, so several teams are off this weekend and have two full weeks to get ready for games that really count.
In District 24-5A, seven of the eight teams are not playing this week including Clear Brook, Clear Lake, Dickinson, Clear Springs, Clear Creek, Alvin and Brazoswood.
Only Ball, which hosts MacArthur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Courville Stadium, is in action among the 24-5A contingent.
It's a similar story in 24-4A where Texas City, Manvel, Angleton and Brazosport are open.
