Football weekend: Brook hosts Strake Jesuit

Clear Brook opens the football weekend Thursday night by hosting Strake Jesuit at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Wolverines, who lost by a point to Aldine Nimitz in an offensive thriller last weekend, are hoping to improve to 2-1 and enter district play next week with a winning record.
Friday night, it's homecoming for Clear Creek, as the Wildcats take on Baytown Lee. The homecoming queen crowning will be at 6:30 p.m., a half hour before gametime. The Wildcats are 1-1 heading into the game, having lost to Kingwood last weekend on a last-second field goal.
Creek and Brook are bracing for a neighborhood matchup on Friday, Sept. 25.
On Saturday night, Clear Lake welcomes The Woodlands, which defeated top-ranked Katy last week.
On the road this weekend, Clear Springs travels to Houston ISD's Butler Stadium for a game against Sharpstown.
Friendswood hosts Nederland Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
