Candidate forums set in Clear Lake area
Over the next three weeks, two candidate forums will take place in the Clear Lake area for those running for Houston mayor and City Council.
Houston City Council at-large candidates for districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are scheduled to participate in a forum on Sept. 17 at the Bay Area Community Center, 5002 NASA Parkway in Seabrook.
The event is being organized by the Bay Area Association of Democratic Women. It will start at 6:30 p.m. with a brief meet and greet session and will end at 9 p.m.
Candidates for mayor and City Council District E will be featured in a forum Sept. 26 at the University of Houston-Clear Lake It will be held in Atrium II of the Bayou Building from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
This forum is sponsored by Bay Area Association of Democratic Women, Bay Area New Democrats and The College Democrats-UHCL.
Mayoral candidates participating are Peter Brown, Annise Parker and Gene Locke. District E candidates are Wayne Garrison and Mike Sullivan.
Both forums are free and open to the public.
