Friendswood Special Olympics team competes in area tournament

The Friendswood Special Olympics Team, consisting of 15 athletes, recently competed in the Area 22 Special Olympics Athletics Tournament that took place at Clear Creek High School.
Friendswood athletes took home six gold medals, 10 silver medals, seven bronze medals, five fourth-place ribbons, one fifth-place ribbon and one seventh-place ribbon.
According to the press release, winners from the Friendswood team include Audry Crues, Macie Lewis, Sterling Dean, Garrett Burtzlaff, Brittney Conway, Ollie Garza, Cristopher Martinez, Jake Randal, Chelsea Breaux, Laura Bowlin, Kevin Brown, Mikey Hickey, Daniel Presley, Jay Reynolds and Ben Theriault.
The team's coach, Teresa Byrd, thanked everyone for their unwavering support of the Friendswood Special Olympics Team.
