Clear Creek ISD names Assistance League 'Partner of the Year'
published May. 20, 2011
The Clear Creek Independent School District named the Assistance League of the Bay Area the "2011 Community Partner of the Year" for the group's work helping area students.
The Assistance League, made up of about 200 volunteer members, collected clothing for nearly 2,000 children, donated prom outfits for seniors who couldn't otherwise afford them and granted summer camp scholarships.
The organization's main fundraising comes from the "Food, Fun and Philanthropy" event, held annually in April, cookbook sales, and proceeds from the Assistance League Resale Shop, 100 E. NASA Parkway in Webster.
The Clear Creek ISD presented the award recently at the district's annual Volunteer and Partnership Breakfast at the Nassau Bay Hilton.
