FJH students release 5,000 ladybugs
published May. 26, 2011
Three Friendswood Junior High science classes visited the Friendswood Heritage Gardeners Briscoe Gardens recently to release 5,000 ladybugs.
The students had studied the work of ladybugs in a garden before their teacher, Gary Scogin, purchased the insects via the Internet.
At the Gardens, Kaye Corey, Heritage gardener chairman, provided information about the bugs. Heritage gardeners then served cookies and lemonade to the students when they had completed their assignment.
Inspirational music was played to make the release of the ladybugs memorable.
