What is "short" about a short sale?

The only thing short about a short sale is/are "tempers, patience and sometimes common sense. Of the thousands of agents in the field only a very small fraction of them have the training and knowledge to handle the complexities of these transactions. Therefore finding yourself in a situation where decisions have to be made to navigate a distressed property you would be well off asking your agent if he is trained to handle these complicated transaction.
