The Houston Police Department reported the following nearby crimes on Jan. 2:

An incident involving theft was reported at 8:24 a.m. in the 100 block of El Dorado Blvd.

An incident involving theft was reported at 10 a.m. in the 1300 block of Nasa Pkwy.

An incident involving theft was reported at 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Bay Area Blvd.

At 5 p.m., theft was reported in the 500 block of El Dorado Blvd.

An incident involving theft was reported at 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Baybrook Mall.

Houston Police Department collision call log, Jan. 2

The Houston Police Department received 23 calls reporting collisions on Jan. 2. These included the following nearby incidents:

At 8:12 p.m., a minor collision involving a person who failed to stop and give information was reported at 202 El Dorado Boulevard. Houston police arrived at 12:34 p.m. The collision was cleared by 12:46 p.m. The incident number is 000676412.

A non-fatal major collision was reported at 16811 El Camino Real at 2:12 p.m. Houston police were dispatched at 2:14 p.m. and arrived at 2:32 p.m. It took until 3:03 p.m. to clear the collision. The incident number is 000726612.

A minor collision involving a person who failed to stop and give information was reported at 11900 Galveston Road B at 3:39 p.m. Houston police were dispatched at 3:56 p.m. and arrived at 4:05 p.m. It took until 4:41 p.m. to clear the collision. The incident number is 000765912.

A $1,000 bail bond was posted for Devon Ray Benedict, 20. Benedict was confined on Jan. 2 on a charge of poss of marijuana. He was released on Jan. 2.
