Jarred Lynn Cosart pitched seven innings, striking out two and allowing two earned runs Friday in the Clearwater Threshers's 8-0 loss to the Brevard County Manatees. Cosart graduated from Clear Creek High School.

Cosart is a 2008 graduate of Clear Creek High School. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 38th round (1,156th overall) of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. He was born May 25, 1990 in League City. Read more...

The following arrests were made by the League City Police Department on July 2.

James Anderson, 21, was arrested in League City on charges of a warrant for driving with an invalid license, a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia, a warrant for no proof of financial responsibility, a warrant for failure to appear and a capias warrant for consumption of alcohol by a minor. Anderson was born on August 3, 1989.

The League City Police Department arrested 23-year-old Latashia Elder on charges of a capias warrant for speeding and a capias warrant for violating a promise to appear. Elder was born on July 29, 1987.

The League City Police Department arrested 32-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez on charges of a warrant for failure to appear and a warrant for speeding 54 mph in 35 mph zone. Gonzalez was born on October 2, 1978.

The League City Police Department arrested 24-year-old Bradley Varnado on charges of a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and 2 counts of a warrant for failure to appear. Varnado was born on October 1, 1986.

A citation or summons was issued to Joel Veedell, 49, for allegedly water safety near Lagoon Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas.

A citation or summons was issued to John Alan Carnew, 49, for allegedly water safety near Lagoon Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas.

A citation or summons was issued to Ryan Palladini, 20, for allegedly water safety near Galveston Road & Challenger, Houston, Texas.

A citation or summons was issued to Julio Cesar Barragan, 19, for allegedly no seat belt - driver near 1100 Grand Avenue, Bacliff, Texas.

An incident involving traffic was reported at 608 Texas Avenue, Kemah, Texas.
