College Baseball: Matt Juengel, Texas A&M
Matt Juengel went 2 for 5 and scored a run in Texas A&M's 5-4 loss at Oklahoma State on Thursday. Juengel graduated from Friendswood Clear Brook High School.
A 2008 graduate of Clear Brook High School, Juengel won three varsity letters playing for coach Russell Farrell. As a senior, 2007-2008, Juengel batted .392 to earn first-team all-district honors at third base. As a junior, 2006-2007, he hit .378 while helping the Wolverines to a trip to the state playoffs. Juengel collected first-team all-district and all-greater Houston accolades. He was named the team's newcomer of the year after hitting .352 as a sophomore, 2005-2006. Juengel played summer baseball for the Houston Heat and Baytown Knights. Born Jan. 13, 1990 the son of David and Carol Juengel, he is a sports management major.
