    A proposal for a farmers market on Friendswood Drive was dealt a setback Monday. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended against a special use permit, and the City Council tabled the matter.

    The Galveston County Daily News reports that a 16-year-old boy hit by a car while running with his sister in San Leon last week has died.

    Last Wednesday Kimberly Louise Shano of Bacliff, left, was charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle.

    Owners won't get away with just boarding up vacant homes in Clear Lake Shores anymore. Now they'll have to make repairs so that their houses are habitable. The new rules are in response to houses never fixed up after Hurricane Ike, of course.
