And in July they'll try to capture the next generation when they set up a kids display at the library.

    Nassau Bay's Van Skiles, 89, was inducted into the new Hall of Fame for the Commemorative Air Force. A pilot since age 14, he flew for both the Army and Braniff Airways, but his claim to fame is his ability to land a B-17 bomber on one wheel during Pearl Harbor reenactments.

    Intended to provide better shelter than tent cities can, these homes are just 8 feet by 12 feet, but they can be assembled on site in an hour and provide shelter up to three years. The Homes for Haiti project is setting up an assembly line in League City's old Academy building.

    Nick Lance spent 40 years at NASA, but when he wasn’t doing his day job as a project manager, he was pursuing his avocation as a ham radio instructor. Now retired, he teaches what he loves to students like Westbrook Intermediate School's Melissa Yung and Stephanie Lawrence.
