    Brook and Springs meet in soccer showdown

    Two playoff-bound teams collide with implications for second and third-place 24-5A finishes in the air when Clear Brook welcomes Clear Springs.

    Clear Brook won at Clear Springs 1-0 in the first round, and another win gives the Lady Wolverines a sweep and at least the No. 2 postseason seed.

    TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
    Clear Springs: The Lady Chargers will join co-Clear Creek ISD members Clear Lake, Clear Brook and Clear Creek in the playoffs, but first, they must visit Clear Brook Tuesday and close out 24-5A at 7 p.m. Friday in Dickinson. Johnson, Velasquez, Paige and Shae McNutt scored goals in a 4-0 blanking of Clear Creek last week.

    Clear Brook: Duke scored the only goal and Simmons had the shutout in net in the Lady Wolverines’ 1-0 triumph at Clear Springs on Feb. 12. In a recent 4-0 blanking of Brazoswood, Beth Stratton scored two goals, and Patty Stratton and Briggs had one apiece. Clear Brook hosts Alvin at 7 p.m. Friday in a 24-5A finale.
