Robbers break into house and tie up residents

Gun-toting robbers broke into a League City home Wednesday night and tied up three teenagers while they ransacked the house.

League City Police Sgt. John Jordan said the incident occurred between 7:15 p.m. and 7:52 p.m. in the 2400 block of Cambria Court in Victoria Lakes.

Three to four men wearing black shirts and black gloves broke in by shattering a locked, sliding backdoor, he said.

They tied up two 17-year-old girls and an 18-year-old man in the living room, Jordan said. Then the intruders helped themselves to $3,500, two gold rings worth $1,500 each, a $200 safe and a $199 digital camera, he said.

The robbers covered up their faces so only their eyes could be seen, Jordan said.

No one was injured, and the three teenagers freed themselves after the men left.

The mother of the teens was on her way home from work at the time of the robbery, Jordan said. Police do not have any leads or suspects.

“They didn’t know them by name,” League City Police Lt. Bruce Whitten said. “There’s nothing to indicate why they were targeted over anybody else.”

I see no mention of a Home Security System in the story. The only robbery I've read about in Victory Lakes before this--was also a home without a Home Security System. perhaps that's a clue worth looking into!
