Clear Lake's Houston residents can sound off

Clear Lake's Houston residents will get a chance to tell Councilman Mike Sullivan what this part of town really needs.

A pubic forum on the city's Capital Improvements Plan will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Pasadena ISD's Dobie High School, 10220 Blackhawk in Houston.

The meeting's intended to give residents an opportunity to sound off on how the city's spending their money and to suggest needed services and improvements.

Harris County's Sylvia Garcia just held a similar meeting and warned Precinct 2 residents shouldn't hold their breath waiting for park and road upgrades.

The Bay Area Citizen quoted Garcia on how the economy has made budgeting a painful process:

“A lot of work has to stay on hold. We won’t issue bonds until the markets are ready. It’s problematic for us as a precinct.’’
