Michael Curtis Gregory: Webster police photoA Houston man wanted in connection with the robbery of a woman outside Burlington Coat Factory in January has been arrested.
Michael Curtis Gregory, 26, was arrested Sunday by the Harris County Sheriff's Office. He's charged with robbery with bodily injury. He was being held Wednesday morning in the Harris County Jail on $20,000 bond.
Webster police detective Juan Quintana said a warrant was issued for Gregory after the victim identified him in a photograph lineup.
About 11:25 a.m. on Jan. 25, Gregory approached a woman as she was getting in her car outside the Burlington Coat Factory at the Gulf Freeway and NASA Parkway, police said. He demanded her keys and purse, both of which she dropped, police said.
After a struggle, Gregory took the woman’s purse, ran to his car and fled, police said.
The victim was able to identify Gregory from a photograph that Webster police obtained from Houston police using the license plate number of his vehicle, police said.
Gregory’s criminal history includes aggravated robbery, burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, theft and forgery, Quintana said.
