Houston police are seeking the driver of a green Ford Mustang they believe intentionally bumped another car early this morning, injuring the couple inside.
Houston Police spokesman Randy Derr said the incident occurred about 1 a.m. in the 2200 block of Bay Area Boulevard, just west of Space Center Boulevard at Thor.
He said the driver of the Mustang and the couple had been arguing in a parking lot. When the boyfriend and girlfriend left in their Ford Taurus, they were followed by the man in the Mustang, who then bumped the couple’s vehicle and caused it to go out of control and crash, Derr said. The driver of the Mustang then fled eastbound on Bay Area Boulevard, but witnesses were unable to get the license plate of the vehicle, he said.
The couple was taken to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital with minor injuries, and they were not forthcoming about the incident with police, Derr said.
Derr said police are seeking the driver for aggravated assault because he intentionally bumped the couple’s vehicle, according to witnesses. The couple said they did not know the other driver, he said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 713-884-3131.
