A 31-year-old League City man was charged with driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance after a three-vehicle crash in Friendswood Thursday evening.
Joshua Brannon was released from the Friendswood jail Friday morning after posting a $4,000 bond, Friendswood authorities said.
Brannon was arrested after the accident occurred in the 17200 block of Blackhawk near FM 528 about 7 p.m. Thursday.
Friendswood police said Brannon failed a field sobriety test and was taken to a local hospital to have his blood drawn for alcohol testing.
At the hospital, police said Brannon acknowledged taking medication earlier in the day, and that a search of his vehicle turned up Xanax, as well as some other prescription medications.
The driver of one of the other vehicles involved in the accident was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest for treatment of minor injuries.
