Hear what 1,100 band students sound like

Proud parents had their videocameras in hand last night when Clear Creek ISD's four high school marching bands met at the district stadium to perform their shows. Afterward, all of the intermediate schools' eighth graders joined the older kids on the field for a mass performance.

Click on the video above to watch 1,100 eighth-grade and high-school band students perform that pep-rally classic, Land of a Thousand Dances.

    Fantastic Show

If any of ya'll are Bands of America or Drum Corps fans and missed this event, you sure would have enjoyed this show! We got there just before the CCHS band took the field, got seats at the 30 yard line (I've got a 1-yr old, so didn't want to be right on the 50 anyways), and got to see an hour of good marching band performances. Traffic was not too bad. All for $2 / adult and whatever concessions we bought. It was a good deal, and I hope they keep this in mind next year.

    By all accounts, great

By all accounts, great success, will be repeated next year as this was the first annual. Enjoyed the performances, I think the intermediate kids enjoyed them, and it was a good taste for the intermediate parents of what is in store when they continue.

    Awesome!!

As a proud parent of one of the 8th graders that participated in last night's Marching Band Festival, I can wholeheartedly agree that this was a terrific show. Each of the high school marching bands put on a great performance, and it was fun to see the 8th graders join them at the end for two songs.

At first this reminded me of my years in high school marching band (MANY years ago) ... but then I realized ... these guys are SO much better than our band ever was. Simply no comparison.

I'm glad my son will have the opportunity to be part of this experience when he enters high school next year.

THANK YOU CLEAR CREEK ISD PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS

As a parent of a high school colorguard member, I want to thank all of you who came out to support our bands, and encouraged our intermediate students to continue their interest in band.

I truly hope that we(CCISD) will continue to have such a great event for our students.

Again, THANK YOU to all who attended!!!
